Yesterday, I made the big leap into bifocals. Of course, they are progressive so have no lines, and have the lowest possible add power, but I feel strange. I already see they help a lot, but, boy, do I feel old. Roger says it is the curse of marrying an older man, that I age quicker (I guess). I suppose it is worth it to wear bifocals and stay married. Actually, it is the curse of the Lone Ranger and the Green Hornet! Dr. Heller graciously lent my research skills out to Avi (my authorship professor) and I have been reading over horribly copied documents about the Lone Ranger and the Green Hornet all semester. Eye strain! Actually, even last semester with so much reading and computer work, I felt I needed them. Maybe, I can get some workers compensation for these new glasses--probably not.
Roger and I have been working out this week and I am so sore I could hardly move last night and am moving a little slowly this morning. He, of course, has no soreness at all (who's the old man?). I feel good about keeping it up and hope to see some changes on the scale over the next few weeks. We are eating better, too.
A trip to Salt Lake City is in our very near future. We leave today. Roger is getting a future leader award, which I am very proud of him for receiving. We will be meeting lots of potential future employers and hopefully making some good contacts. I hope to have a little fun, as well.
Tomorrow is the first anniversary of our marriage. We are planning a nice dinner near our hotel. It should be a lot of fun. It seems like only yesterday that Andrea, Roger and I waited for Doug to go to the JP. She (the JP) was a hoot. I still smile when I think about how much fun the four of us had in that little, worn down room where marriage happens. What a joy. Our marriage has been a joy as well. Each morning I am so happy and thankful to be married. So, no Luna Maya with Brad, Andrea and Doug this 21st...maybe again for our second anniversary next year!
