Sunday

Food, homework and preparing to travel to Salt Lake City in 3 days. That has been my Sunday.

Food--We had yummy smoothies for lunch after a nice long walk. It was beautiful outside today. I am now making pasta, brown rice penne pasta, sausage, onions, garlic, peppers, mushrooms and Trader Joe's Tuscan Marinara. No help from Rachel Ray this time. I also prepped Salmon and sweet potatoes for lunch tomorrow. Mondays and Tuesdays are challenging and we eat kind of strangely. Roger and I have been restricting our diet and exercising to drop so more weight. I guess that makes me think about food more often.

Homework--I have been reading Walter Benjamin (pronounced BenYamin). It is interesting. He wrote before WWII (he committed suicide rather than go to a concentration camp). The paper is about how mass production/technology has impacted art. It made art more accessible to the masses. He discussed films, including early Talkies. I wonder how much Benjamin could have imagined the immediacy of the art we can receive over the internet at a seconds notice. With the push of a button, millions could see a piece of art. Now that's timely art for the masses!

My friend Juliet and I went to Barnes and Noble for magazines for my airplane trip to Salt Lake City. It was nice to get out for a while. The mall was not too busy. We got our stuff taken care of then walked through Nordstom and fantasized about where we wear the ball gowns. It was fun.

Not much else going on right now. Motivation for losing the weight is everywhere and I am getting in tune with that right now. I see pictures all the time that remind me of what I do not want to be. I know I will never be thin, but healthy and somewhat smaller seems pretty good to me.
