Quantum of Solace

I loved it. Not as much for the plot, but for all that interests me in my future in studying film. I don't think I could have asked for a better follow up to Casino Royale to help further my argument in my Master's Thesis. I do feel sorry for people who have never seen any Bond film and start with this one. You could probably follow the plot, but you would miss out on a whole set of sub-stories that I believe are far more interesting and more pleasurable than the plot. I love my field.

I met with Avi about the thesis and applications for PhD programs. I have a lot of work to do on my statements of purpose and my curriculum vitae, but feel I am on the right track. Some of the programs require me to be able to read a foreign language, so I'll need to start refreshing my memory of French. I found a cool website that can translate text in any language to English. I tried it out on a few languages this morning and got quite a laugh. I found some idiotic sounding foreign passages on the net. Some people should really think before they write (me included, sometimes).

I enjoy my life, my schoolwork, my marriage, my blogging and so many other aspects of my day-to-day. I should be used to being this blissfully happy by now, but with so many not so blissful years behind me, I still feel so amazed. Thank you Roger (and Avi and everyone else who's time and energy fuel my happiness). I hear thunder and pouring down rain, yet I feel sunny!

Quantum of Solace is entertaining at least... a fantastic job with the styling and picture quality, but the movie as a whole could stand to lose six or seven fewer chase scenes
