The Good Life

I skipped (yes skipped) home this evening with a cheery little German tune in my head. It is great to feel free and happy. It has been so long since I have had no burdens, but today, none! If I had a million dollars, I doubt I would be happier than I am today.

I am so excited that Elise's baby boy will always know me as "Grandma." Cassie is getting there, but is old enough to have to manage a complex situation. Baby boy Main will not have that worry. It is too bad that we can't be there for the birth, but that is the way it is when you live far away. We will be there for a long while in December and will spend oodles of time with the baby, and of course, with Cassie.

The neighbors across the street and screaming and fighting. It is amusing. People are sitting on their porches listening and waiting for something to happen. I am inside, not really caring. Life will go on, whether they patch things up or not. Life always goes on, luckily for me this life is good...actually better than good!
