Fall Sunday

Today is the first cool Sunday in fall. We had on a minute of football before Roger got to work on his paper. We woke up cool and energized. We read the New York Times and had coffee (don't get me started on China and Iraq/Iran...I may rant on and on). I made lunch. I started homemade chicken soup. Roger can't eat noodles, I don't want potatoes or rice, so I may make some croutons out of rice bread as accompaniment. I have never made chicken soup from scratch, but I had celery, carrots, onions, garlic, herbs and chicken thighs and thought, why not try it? I also had some homemade chicken stock which should be good. I then started pumpkin pudding, which is pumpkin pie without the crust. The house smells so good. I, too, should start homework, after folding the laundry. I love fall Sundays.

I hope you didn't get too tired on your Sunday. We started our Sunday by cleaning out the pots and cleaning the patio of all the plants that were left. No frost yet! I guess there is a "good side" of global climate change. Then I scampered up to the roof and removed the leaves and twigs. Down to the ground and again packed up leaves with your mother's help. Then mowed and picked leaves as they were still falling. I still think the tree wait until I am done before the cover the ground again. Then I went to Jon's to help harvest the fish and trim a tree and put the hard top on the jeep. I was a little stiff last night. But the Packers and Wild won and the Rockies are fun to watch. So I feel lucky and happy. And only a three day week this week! I guess my life is good too.
