What a Vacation!

Mike, Elise and Cassie arrived really late Wednesday night. We drove home and pretty much went to sleep. We started Thursday a little slowly, but hit the beach for a few hours of good waves, sun and fun. We made it home in time to shower up and get ready for the Tide's game. The weather was gorgeous, the game was actually competitive and we had fireworks. It was the best. Friday after a lazy morning, some rounds of Rock Band and then off to Fran's for the July 4th Barbeque. We had a nice time visiting and eating. We went to Waterside for the fireworks, which ended up being canceled. A thunder storm and ice cream saved the evening! We headed back to the beach on Saturday. It ended up storming so we went home and got ready for dinner. We met Jennie, Pete and Jack at Chick's. It was fun to see Cassie and Jack get along so well. They were immediate friends, oh to be 7 again. Dinner was good. Mike and Elise got all the pictures the first three days. I'll post them when I receive them.

Sunday, we headed to Virginia Beach to be tourists. We walked the boardwalk and Atlantic Avenue. We took a ride on the Rudee Flipper and saw some dolphins, and got caught in a great thunderstorm on the water. It was lots of fun. We ended the night with more seafood at Rockafellers. It was delicious. Dessert and back to bed. We had to get up at 3 a.m. today to get them to the airport. It was sad to see them leave. I enjoyed being a grandma for a few days. I hope we get to do it again sometime.
