No, not forensic medicine, not CSI, but Forensics...speech and debate. I competed while at NDSU over 15 years ago. I am now judging for the ODU team. We went to Manchester, New Hampshire for the weekend and had a fun tournament at a small Catholic college. With VERY spooky buildings. It was fun to feel a part of that arena of competition again. I enjoyed the ODU team. They are fun, young and seemed to think I was okay. They gave me a nickname, which I rarely get...Judge Hammer. We (mostly they) had a lot of fun with that one. One of the competitors took home trophys in all five of her events and took the overall individual trophy. Great job, Sam! She is quite extraordinary.
It was difficult to be gone from home. It was my first time away from Roger and I missed him and our home. I was happy to get home to Roger and football and our futon and just hanging out at home with the love of my life. What a great thing to come home to!!
Now, it is off to work again tomorrow for both Dawn and Dr. Heller. This should be a busy week, ending with a driving trip to a speech tournament in Tennessee. I look forward to the trip and the fun, and fondly look forward to coming back home to Roger.

Hammer time!
I know you would remember your grandmother's birthday (today). She is fine and really likes where she is at. She is now in the habit of calling us and chatting for a spell.
Here comes the cold tonight, teens. But it will warm to the 40s by Wednesday.
Glad you had a good time in New Hampshire. Hope you didn't run into any presidential candidates while there.
Say hi to "AL" and we will see you in December.
Can't Touch This,
Dad

And of course, now I have U Can't Touch This in my head...thanks, Thom!
