Paul left very early this morning. We had a very nice weekend. We climbed to the top of the Hatteras Lighthouse on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. We treked all over the Jamestown Settlement and on to Yorktown for some interesting looks into the end of the Revolutionary War. We had good ice cream (twice) and found some good food (thanks for treating, Paul) and just had a nice time. We watched football at Jim and Fran's even though Fran was out of town. Of course, it is easy to invite yourself over for dinner if you cook and provide the food, which I did. Everyone seemed pleased with the pasta and sausage I made. I always enjoy cooking for those who appreciate it, and I find most people do appreciate my food. Yesterday, I had to get some school work done, so Roger and Paul hit the beach without me. They enjoyed themselves and even got a little sunburn. So, at 4 am, we took off for the airport, said good-bye to Paul and returned home for a few more hours in bed before waking to this HOT day (95+degrees).
It is always nice to have someone come to stay, but it is nice when they go home as well. We are working on our routine. I am finishing our dinner of pecan and pear salad, sweet potatoes and lemon mahi mahi. We'll eat, watch some movies for my homework, read and go to sleep; tomorrow we start at school again and in the real busy swing of things until mid-December, when we have a few days off before another busy semester starts. Ah, what a great life!
